I am Janeke Fourie and I live in the Pukekohe area with my husband, Johan, and our two children. Our family has called this area home for many years, and I value being part of a community where people look out for and support one another.
I bring more than 15 years’ experience in capability building, adult education, organisational leadership and stakeholder engagement across the education, private and not-for-profit sectors. In my current senior leadership role, I lead strategic implementation, operational performance, programme delivery, quality assurance, business growth and team development. My work has a strong people focus, helping individuals, teams and organisations build confidence, capability and sustainable pathways through learning.
Alongside my professional role, I bring governance experience through previous school board service. I am especially interested in strengthening local services that support whānau, families and individuals to move towards independence and long-term wellbeing.
I bring a practical, people-centred approach to governance, with strengths in strategic planning, financial and operational oversight, risk and compliance, stakeholder relationships and community connection. I enjoy working collaboratively, asking thoughtful questions and supporting decisions that are values-led, sustainable and grounded in the needs of the community.
