I am Fleur Cassidy, and I live in Pukekohe with my husband Dennis and our two school age children. We have lived in Pukekohe as a family for 16 years, however Dennis’s connection with the area is multigenerational. He completed all of his schooling in the area, and is now a local Primary School teacher. I grew up in an armed services family, so we spent many years moving around New Zealand and overseas. My secondary education was at James Cook High School in Manurewa. I now work in Corporate Finance in a food manufacturing company based in South Auckland, which allows me to interact with people from various backgrounds and circumstances.
In my spare time I enjoy walking, cycling and gardening. Family time is especially important to me, and I get involved in the kids sports and activities wherever possible.
I joined the board of the FFSS to put my Finance skills to good use. Having completed some Sociology study at Massey University a few years ago, I realised that as the kids were getting older, I had room in my life to volunteer my time to a local not for profit (NFP) organisation.
I would recommend a volunteer role on a board to anyone with a passion for positive change. There are many free learning resources online. My experience with the staff of FFSS and fellow board members has been superb and I am grateful to be in a position to contribute to our community.
